TIE Fighter Model

It won't surprise you in the slightest to learn that we are all massive Star Wars nerds here at Gadget Inspector. Our site has always been well-stocked with Star Wars stuff, but our latest addition to this ever-growing pile might just be one of the coolest yet.

We speak of none other than our awesome Star Wars 3D Model Kits! There are four different models available (R2-D2, the Millennium Falcon, a TIE Fighter and an AT-AT Walker), but regardless of which one you choose, you can be sure of a very rewarding model-making challenge and a cool Star Wars figurine when you're finished!

Now, we're not the most experienced of model-makers here at GI HQ, but we tried our hand at the TIE Fighter and, actually, it wasn't all that difficult. All you have to do is press out the pieces and connect 'em up - you might need a pair of tweezers for the little bits, but otherwise, it's pretty straightforward stuff!

Wooden triceratops
It's been more than a decade since Jurassic Park came out, but the way we see it, dinosaurs are due to come back in style very soon. After all, Jurassic World is out soon, and so it won't be long before a whole new generation decides that, hey, perhaps archaeology is a pretty cool career choice.

If you want to get the jump on the imminent rush of dino-fever, now is the time to do it. We've got a bunch of great build-a-dinosaur kits here at Gadget Inspector, and today, we're going to show you how we built our very own triceratops...

Dinosaur Construction kit

Here's what you get in your dinosaur kit - the first thing to do is press out all the pieces!

Building a triceratops

Start with the long spine/tail piece. This is what you'll be slotting all the other pieces into.

Triceratops step 2

Slot the shoulders and hips into the spine, then add the four legs.

Triceratops step 3

Now for the ribs! You should have 5 wishbone-shaped pieces; slot these on top of the spine.

Triceratops step 4

Finally, give Topsy a head so that she can see. Congratulations - you have just built a dinosaur!

UPDATE: Our triceratops is alive and she's joined Twitter! Her handle is @TopsyTri - why not give her a follow?
We recently re-launched the Gadget Inspector website with a brand new design, and while we don't like to toot our own horns, we must say that we've been overwhelmed by the feedback that we've been receiving!

Here's what the good people of Twitter have been saying about the new 'n' improved GadgetInspector.co.uk...

If you watch Dragon's Den, you may already know about Victor's Drinks - the people behind these brew-your-own kits convinced Duncan Bannatyne to invest £40,000 in their business, and the rest, as they say, is history.

We recently added an assortment of Victor's products to the Gadget Inspector website, and since it's important to know what you're selling, we decided to give one of the kits a try. Here's how we got on...

Victor's Drinks - Brew Your Own Cider

As you can see, we went for the 'Mixed Berry' version of Victor's Brew Your Own Cider kit. Note that we also sell a Brew Your Own Ale version!

Pouring the cider

Making the cider is easy - you just empty the sachet of powder into the box, add some water, and leave it to brew for 10 day (if you're planning to serve your home-brewed cider at a party, be sure to think ahead!) Once that time has elapsed, turn on the spigot and pour yourself a delicious home-made beverage!

How delicious does that look? And, yes, we can confirm that it tasted fantastic as well!
